Welcome to Asterisk Online Shopping Store !
Every October, shop owners and families run into the same trouble. They buy Halloween decorations that look great in pictures, but arrive broken in the mail. Others fade after just one year or are made with scary chemicals. Most decorations are just cheap plastic or paper.
Wool felt is the solution that more people should know about. Based in Kathmandu, Asterisk Nepal has been making 100% wool felt products for the whole world since the very beginning. Our 2026 Halloween collection features 15 unique items. Everything is made from high-quality New Zealand Merino wool and colored with safe, non-toxic dyes. These decorations are strong enough to last for many Halloweens to come.
Not all felt is the same. Most Halloween decorations that say they are "felt" are actually made of polyester. Polyester is a type of plastic made from oil. It looks like felt, but it doesn't work like the real thing. Real wool felt is much better:
The wool at Asterisk Nepal comes from Merino sheep in New Zealand. This wool is very high quality and has very thin, soft hairs. Because the hairs are so fine, the felt stays smooth, and the colors stay bright for a long time. Cheaper, rougher wool is easier to make into felt, but it looks fuzzy and messy. For decorations that people see up close, the quality of the wool really matters.
Most cheap clothes and decorations use "Azo dyes" because they are inexpensive and make colors look very bright. However, some of these dyes can break down into harmful chemicals that are known to cause sickness. Because of these risks, Europe has very strict safety laws (like the REACH Regulation) that ban these dangerous dyes.
Asterisk Nepal only uses azo-free dyes. This makes our Halloween collection safe for families and children. It also means our products meet all the safety rules for being sold in Europe and other countries. The bright oranges, deep blacks, and spooky purples in our line stay beautiful even if you touch them a lot. Because wool "drinks up" the dye deep into its fibers, the color stays inside the wool. It won't rub off on your hands or your furniture.
The collection uses both techniques. They produce different results and are suited to different products.
Needle-Felting uses barbed needles to mechanically tangle wool fibers. The needles are pushed repeatedly into loose wool roving, locking fibers together without water or heat. It's a sculpting process that allows precise three-dimensional shaping. Nearly all figurines and ornaments in the Halloween collection are needle-felted.
Wet-Felting uses hot water, soap, and friction to shrink and bond wool fibers. The result is denser, flatter, and structurally consistent. Garlands and banners are built from wet-felted components because the material holds its shape on a string and handles the mechanical stress of hanging without deforming.
The Handmade Halloween Felt Pumpkins are needle-felted in multiple sizes, each shaped by hand from dyed Merino. The ribbing is sculpted into the felt during needling, not applied afterward. The Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin adds facial features: carved eye and mouth shapes in contrasting felt, stitched or needled in.
The Handmade Halloween Small Ghost comes in multiple design variations, round-bodied, flat-faced, and some with stitched expressions. The White Ghost is a standalone figurine, larger and more formally shaped. Both are needle-felted, washable on a cold, gentle cycle, and neither will crack or chip.
The Handmade Wool Felted Small Bats are flat needle-felted forms, thin enough to hang from thread and stiff enough to hold their wing shape. The Handmade Halloween Felt Eye is a unique choice for stylists, featuring a felted iris surrounded by white with needle-detail veining.
Asterisk Nepal manufactures to order for wholesale buyers, importers, and private label brands. Custom color development and felt color matching are available. OEM orders require a design brief and typically have an 8–12 week lead time for the first production run. For the October retail season, wholesale orders should ideally be placed by late June.
